BENJAMIN GRENET, ORIGINAL DESIGNER
Before designing the XT-6, Benjamin joined Salomon 20 years ago as an innovation designer, when he was inspired by the technical capabilities of Salomon’s S/LAB Nordic ski boots. Today, he is the Head of Footwear Design.
“During XT-6’s tenure as a performance shoe, there were only two colorways – one for soft ground, one for hard,” he says.
“When we proposed this shoe for the Sportstyle range, that unlocked a new world of possibilities.”
“It allowed us to take the same design and free it,” he continues. “You take a shoe you think you know and transform it, propose a new vision, magnify it and build it into something completely different.”
